VICTORY OVER BOW HAND!!!
Hey all!
So, I've been having some struggles with my bow hand. When I started taking lessons with Maryanne, I fixed my pinky from flying. She then started mentioning that my bow hold was 'pronated' and that maybe I should make it more balanced, like the Franco-Belgian bow hold.
Ok.
We only had two lessons in the beginning of November, and the rest of the month is off, so during this time I started fixing my hold. I had to lower my knuckles until they were almost flat, and spread my fingers accordingly to the Franco-Belgian bow hold. I also moved my bow hold farther up the stick, until my pinky is right at the corner of the back of the frog.
All in all, I feel like my spiccato is better, and that I'm more relaxed. I've never felt like my bow hold was quite right until now.
